If we were to host a lesson plan database connected to the AASL information literacy standards, what problem solving model would you like to use?  Big 6, Inquiry Based, others? 

Also, even if we couldn't attach it to the standards at the beginning, would it be worthwhile to have a searchable database by subject, keyword, and grade level?

Here's a successful unit plan we developed for 5th grade in anticipation for the Social Studies test.  I'm sure it could be customized for other grade levels.  This was a great collaborative project between myself, the computer teacher, and the classroom teacher.

Overview:

Nation Building Unit

The students learned about different countries and concepts using the VRC and other materials.  They then applied what they learned to create a nation of their own (Students were assigned a latitude and longitude, which they had to locate on the globe).  The final product was presented on an 11x17 MSPublisher brochure (see attached model and example; please note that illustrations were created in MSPaint) and assessed according to a rubric (see attached MSWord document). 

Timeline:

We used approximately 1-3 classes per topic.
